Shadow Creek is a beautiful wedding venue in the verdant Virginia countryside. Celebrations are hosted in a large and lovely barn, whose high ceilings and open space are both rustic and elegant. A big plus for us is that the dance floor is HUGE, so our couples and their loved ones can really get down! All that room is a big help to those whose guest list is on the longer side – Shadow Creek can accommodate 300 guests, rain or shine.
Folks who wed there also benefit from this Virginia wedding venue’s enormous outside space, which is wonderful for outdoor ceremonies and cocktail hours. Shadow Creek doesn’t just look like a classic Virginia horse property…there are actual horses there, too! You can even have one come to your cocktail hour or be a part of your wedding photos.
Large and open are great things as far as atmosphere goes, but this can sometimes present challenges as far as a DJ setup goes. However, we’ve got the equipment (our amazing wireless Bose speakers) and the know-how to deliver excellent, unobtrusive sound coverage inside and out.
Below are a few shots of our DJ setup within Shadow Creek’s barn, as well as on the front portico and lawns. If you’ve got questions about how we’d set up in your wedding venue, give us a call at 202.997.2514.
Outdoor weddings are always fun, and when the venue in question is a winery, the proceedings take on a holiday atmosphere. The landscape is so different that it’s hard not to feel as if you’re far removed from the Washington, DC area!
We’re lucky to have several great wineries in the area at which couples can wed, one of which is the beautiful 8 Chains North Winery. Located in Waterford, VA, the venue has beautiful banquet rooms (one of which has a handsome patio) and, of course, stunning outdoor spaces which afford sweeping views of the vineyards.
Capacity at 8 Chains ranges from 100-120, and they do allow tenting, which enables couples to take advantage of all the natural beauty. When clients choose this venue for their celebration, we always bring our Bose wireless speakers! Not only do they provide powerful sound which will carry even in a wide, open space such as a vineyard, but they also make a minimal visual imprint. A helpful asset indoors and out!

Our team at Chris Laich Music Services always looks forward to our weddings at the top of The Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, DC. It is a gorgeous space and has the best view of the White House in DC. It’s an impressive space with a wonderful event team and delicious food and drink. Last month we were there for Kristen and Jarrod’s wedding and it did not disappoint! It was great working with Roman Grinev Photography, Elegantly Chic Events, Growing Wild Floral, Kendall’s Cakes and Rev. Laura from Ceremony Officiants.
